Tremendous. Absolutely tremendous. This is undoubtedly the single most valuable resource my wife and I utilize in teaching our son the Bible at home. In all fairness, my 3 year old is probably a year or two too young to benefit from it the way he will, but he still looks forward to reading the Bible every night. Our family is currently reading through the Old Testament stories in the JSB, and my wife and I have been genuinely blessed by Lloyd-Jones ability to demonstrate how the Old Testament Scriptures bear witness about Christ (Jn. 5:39). In short, I cannot recommend more highly the Jesus Storybook Bible.
Great to read! Â We’re reading it to Heidi right now too. Â Just started a few weeks ago – we’re on Isaiah. Â I probably love it more than she does. Â The simplicity of the way the stories are interpreted is great, and I love how each story points to Christ. Â Humbling for even adults. Â I wish I read the “real” Bible with the same eyes that are presented here!
I agree… she seems to read the Bible the way it ought to be read… true, exciting, stunning, beautiful, saddening, life-giving, joyful, hopeful, etc.
